The EveryDrop™ Ice & Water Refrigerator Filter 1 is an NSF-rated mechanical and chemical water filter that reduces levels of 24 contaminants in drinking water. These substances include three common pharmaceuticals, eight pesticides, eight industrial chemicals, as well as asbestos, chlorine taste and odor, cysts particulates, class I turbidity, and lead. These substances may not be present in every water supply, but this filter will significantly reduce any amounts that are present. The EveryDrop™ Filter 2 is model number EDR2RXD1 or W10413645A and the replacement cartridge model P9RFWB2L for system P9WB2L. The EveryDrop™ Filter 2 also installs simply in a few seconds in the bottom front of a compatible KitchenAid fridge. You should flush at least four gallons (15.142 liters) of water through this cartridge prior to consuming water. Switch out this filter based on the status of the filter change indicator or every six months, whichever comes first.
EveryDrop™ Ice & Water Refrigerator Filter 3
The EveryDrop™ Ice &Water Refrigerator Filter 3 reduces up to 66 contaminants, 42 more than EveryDrop™ Filters 1 and 2. In addition to the pollutants filtered by these other models, the EveryDrop™ Filter 3 also lowers the presence of MTBE, trihalomethanes, mercury, and 44 VOCs from drinking water in compatible fridge models. The EveryDrop™ Filter 3 is a mechanical and chemical water filter with a flow rate of 0.5 gallons (1.9 liters) per minute, which is slightly slower than the EveryDrop™ Filter 1 or EveryDrop™ Filter 2 models, allowing for the filtration of more contaminants.
